Gleðileg nýtt ár! Bonne année!

We left Iceland on December 30th and missed New Year's Eve there: I really wanted to see the fireworks but Mamma tells me I would have been too scared. All this craziness is not made for a little girl like me. Next time, then I will be old enough to enjoy the colors and big BANGS in the sky. The good thing Amma sent me a video of the firecrackers and I like that one.

Not being in Iceland did not mean we were bored at home: 3 of Mamma and Papa's friends stayed with us for a few days. Bea came from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Varuni and Jerome came from Angers, South West of here. They all got to see how cute and adorable I was, I played all my tricks on them. They even relieved my parents a little and took care of me in the morning so they could sleep more.

I am a little girl and could not stay up until midnight on New Years's Eve. Too bad, I would have liked to try the super fancy dinner they all prepared. I am sure snails and foie gras don't do little girls any harm.

The girls. Thecutest one is in bed though...

Mamma and Papa, the hosts of this New Year's Eve dinner. Got some good help from all the guests to prepare the food and setup the table. And take care of me.

January 1st in Fontainebleau.
My new backpack so I can go everywhere, until I can walk by myself. The bouncing is the best part: hoppa hoppa.

Picking food for lunch is hard for B and V. That's because they don't have my help.

Sitting, Walking and Running

I am now 8 months old: everybosy says I am growing too fast. It is so much better to be bigger: I can do new things all by myself, life is less frustrating. Sitting and walking on 4 feet... I am mastering those techniques. I am not walking yet though so I still need Mamma, Papa or a stroller to carry me. Does not prevent me from discovering the world around Saint Remy, we always visit tons of new places together.

In the Parc de Rambouillet, a few minutes from home. I am demonstrating my skills on the lawn of the French President. It is the castle where he sometimes welcomes other presidents and important people.

When I get tired of walking or for longer distances, I just ask my best ride to carry me. Faster, faster...

Where is dinner? I am hungry. I am still a little small in that chair and need padding in the back but soon, I will be able to eat all by myself.

When it is not me walking, it is Mamma running. This is in Paris, in a race only for girls. It was difficult to spot Mamma in the big crowds and she was going so fast, I almost missed here. Maybe next year I wil participate too.

At the finish line. I am so proud of Mamma for getting a big medal. I am sure it is gold.

It is my 8-month anniversary today. See, I am already trying new running shoes, preparing for next year's race. And modeling my new hat at the same time.

Birna comes to Paris

Aunt Birna came from Denmark to visit us (mostly me, but don't tell Mamma and Papa) for a week. I got a little confused again: cute girl, blond hair, blue eyes... I was always thinking it was Mamma and was super nice to Birna.
I got to show her around, I know all the best places in the area now and it doesn't hurt that I'm the cutest tour guide there is.

We went to Versailles,

and Sacre Coeur in Paris (Birna's hand was a lot more interesting than the camera this time).

Exercizing - Paris & Saulges

I decided it was enough rest after the US trip, we have to get moving again. I am a super energetic little girl: I can't stay in the same place more than a minute, I have to roll away, I can't just look at things, I need to grab them... Nothing better for me than exercizing as much as possible to drain all that extra energy out.

Let's start with roller-blading. There is this event every Sunday in Paris, where people go rollerblading around the city, for about 20km. Thousands of people on wheels, the police blocks roads just for us. What a wonderful way to visit the city.

I am so happy, we are on the move again. What I like best: bumps in the road!
Mom is doing a great job driving the stroller, not always so easy when going uphill. Oh, and nobody can resist my super cute smile, they all have to wave at me.

I might like moving fast and bumps, but Mamma and Papa have their own addiction: they cannot spend a week without touching some rock. Summer is the best period, they like going on climbing week-ends, with their friends from the climbing gym. This time, we are in Saulges, a small village not too far from Le Mans, about 2.5 hours West of Paris.

I have my little Pogy bed for trips, Mamma and Papa have their little house too. They decided they would bring me everywhere ( I love that), the carrier is great for that.
Me in my Snugli, well protected from the strong sun.
I like hugging Mamma, she is the best.
I learnt a new trick lately: I can sit by myself. Does not always last very long though, I lose my balance and fall head first. Boink.
Oooooh, a cute flower. So difficult to grab it with my little hands! I have to concentrate hard.

I can see fishes from up there. Climbing week-ends are not only meant for climbing: I like wandering around and discover new things. Flowers, leaves, little rocks... so many new things for me.
I am always happy to be outside (and so is daddy).
Climbing = sherpas. We don't always travel very light...
Discovering climbing gear. As soon as I can walk, I'll show them how good of a climber I am.
I already like altitude: I am a plane right now, flying super high and super fast.

Amma and Afi - Part 2

Today, after a good night of sleep and a little nap in the morning, I went to Paris for the first time. I had been there in the past but it did not really count, I was in mommy's tummy. I saw all the beautiful sights by myself, with the best view ever, from my stroller: the Eiffel Tower, Le Louvre, Notre Dame, l'Arc de Triomphe...

Visiting such a big city takes a little time so I got to sleep a lot in the car and in the stroller. Which means that tonight I am full of energy. Combined with some stomach pains (I guess drinking a bottle in the car on the way back home might not have been the best idea), I already feel bad for mom and dad that will probably spend a difficult night. I have to get used to traveling, we are all planning to visit a lot of places in France and Europe in the coming months, starting with Iceland soon after Easter.

Oh, I almost forgot: this morning, I also got to do like the stars in Hollywood: Amma helped me make some imprints of my foot and hand in cast. They look fantastic and I'll be able to remember how small I was in a few years from now.

A little nap in my new chair before leaving to Paris.
